{"id":304,"date":"2022-02-21T05:41:39","date_gmt":"2022-02-21T05:41:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elite-massage-school.com\/?page_id=304"},"modified":"2025-10-20T08:22:45","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T08:22:45","slug":"the-creation-of-ems","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/elite-massage-school.com\/?page_id=304","title":{"rendered":"The Story of EMS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wb_element_instance7_7\" class=\"wb_element wb_text_element\" data-plugin=\"TextArea\">\n<p class=\"wb-stl-heading3\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Our Story&#8230;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"wb_element_instance8_7\" class=\"wb_element wb_text_element\" data-plugin=\"TextArea\">\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What started as a simple <span class=\"TextRun BCX0 SCXO195102674\" lang=\"X-NONE\" xml:lang=\"X-NONE\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX0 SCXO195102674\">career path led in turn to<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;connections within the community while I was teaching at my Alma Mater; Ashmead College.&nbsp; This is what started&nbsp; the journey&#8230;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wb-stl-custom2\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On Halloween of 2011, the evening internship that I created and taught for 8 years was eliminated and I was let go. This led to exploration and developed into new opportunities including:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"wb-stl-custom2\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Growth of my personal business; Elite Massage &amp; Fitness.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"wb-stl-custom2\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Development of respect from my colleagues, past students, and associates.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"wb-stl-custom2\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The ability to become a Continuing Education Instructor on my own terms.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"wb-stl-custom2\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Co-creating and then becoming the sole owner of Elite Massage Professionals (EMP) Mobile Massage Team.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wb-stl-custom2\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">While developing these relationships and my businesses; people began asking me when I was going to start my own school to share my knowledge and experience with others.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Well, writing curriculum is not an easy task. It takes time (lots of it). It is a journey to attempt to condense your passion, skills, knowledge, and success into a written format that will be understandable and benefit others.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Since 2003 I have had many along the way with whom I have attempted to start the process of curriculum development. I have tried multiple times to start my own curriculum and start a school without success. &nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It took until 2019 for me to find colleagues who had a similar vision and have partnered with me (and nudged me in the correct direction) to create this educational institution for others to develop passion and skill for our field of massage.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With the help of John and Jeanne, we have formed Elite Massage Education Center in 2019 which provides&nbsp;Continuing Education programs and in 2021 we began development of Elite Massage School.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rather than completely reinventing the wheel, we acquired a curriculum similar to what we were writing (thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/sharialdrich.com\/\">Shari<\/a>) and tailored it into our own style with the skills in which our instructors bring to the table.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2022 we brought Jessica and Cionne onboard to help grow this vision and provide their instructional talents.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With the help of our instructors, staff, supporters, colleagues, associates, families, and friends; we are excited to develop and lead a program that will produce elite therapists that will make any community proud to have them as their Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT).&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">~ Todd Valentine \/ Owner &amp; EMS Director<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Story&#8230; What started as a simple career path led in turn to&nbsp;connections within the community while I was teaching &hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-304","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry","latest_post"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/elite-massage-school.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/304","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/elite-massage-school.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/elite-massage-school.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elite-massage-school.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elite-massage-school.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=304"}],"version-history":[{"count":13,"href":"https:\/\/elite-massage-school.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/304\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1599,"href":"https:\/\/elite-massage-school.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/304\/revisions\/1599"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/elite-massage-school.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=304"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
